Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones is asking the public to have their say on her plans to revamp how victims of crime can access support and information.
The proposal of a Victims Hub would mean a central focal point for quicker and tailored access for victims to the appropriate local support services, as well as accessing information about their reported crime.
PCC Donna Jones has said:
“It is completely devastating and life-changing when a person becomes a victim of crime, and I am committed to helping them get the answers they need, and to access the right level of support to ensure they can move forward with their lives.
“Ensuring support for victims is one of the main priorities that I have outlined in my Crime and Police Plan so it’s vital that we get your feedback because your ideas and input will help us shape the services that victims are able to access across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.”
The Victims Hub survey covers a range of topics including how safe you feel where you live, trust and confidence in the police, and whether you have been a victim of crime and how you have reported it.
The public can take part in the survey at Victims Hub Survey April 2023 (alchemer.eu) and it runs until 21st May 2023.

Your going to be my next victim
How very caring – of course if the crimes were prevented from happening or the perpetrators actually caught, prosecuted and given proper tough sentences for their criminal activity, then I can tell you from bitter experience, I would be much happier than someone telling me there is now a ‘hub’ I can attend where some bleeding heart liberal will put their head to one side and tell me I am not alone and can have a dose of unspecified taxpayer funded ‘support’ if I fancy it.
Exactly. Instead of wasting money on this, why not put it into providing more officers on the streets, deterring people from offending.
Well said, another useless idea from a useless PCC
End en masse unchecked enrichment which would reduce the UK crime and free up prison space so that courts could give meaningful sentences to our own criminals.
That way a deterrent, less criminals on the streets AND less need for pathetic patronising victims support.
If you don’t understand this or don’t agree Donna YOU are in the wrong job love
Steady on now chaps. I was chatting to Scott at the club the other day and we both agreed that Donna is doing a fantastic job and should in fact be given a bonus. We’re all in this together, so let’s get behind her and give her our support. Huzzah!
Perhaps this is another election distraction? But put the effort into prevention, as the proposed is “closing the gate after the horse has bolted” as a victims hub will be oversubscribed with too many victims .. more money needed next !! So Get the 600+ officers (your claim ) out in all areas stopping crime.
Just investigate crimes that have been committed?
Surely this was what police stations were for!! If they hadn’t got rid of them we wouldn’t need all these stupid ‘hubs’. My God, I hate that word! Latest bullsh** word!
They are treating a symptom of crime, by creating hubs, rather than the cause of crime, which is delinquent, low life, s cumbags, that need locking up
If the police and the Commissioner did their jobs there would be less need for a ‘Victim’s Hub’.
A visible police presence on the streets, walking NOT driving around in cars, would be a starting point.
The second issue would be for the Council to stop bringing known troublemakers and rejects from other areas to the Island and housing them here. Yes, I know it comes down to the fact that the Council gets paid to house them but the problems they bring must outweigh the extra cash.
