Thanks to Island Echo a Newport-based podiatry clinic is to be saved from closure.
It was reported earlier this month that The Foot Therapy Clinic, based on Chain Lane, was being forced to close after 17 years.
Owner Kiren Dhillon – who opened the business in 2006 – was set to close the doors next month in order to retire and look after her mother.
Now, it has been announced that Kiren will be handing over to Mike Tattersall, a podiatrist already working on the Island.
Mike has spent the last 18 years working as a locum for the NHS in various locations across the UK and is currently a member of the NHS podiatry team based at St Mary’s Hospital, where he will also continue working. Mike’s range of practice includes routine care, biomechanics, diabetes assessments, wound management and nail surgery.
After trying for over 3 years, Kiren has told Island Echo that she is hugely relieved to have found a podiatrist who will look after her patients.
Mike is pleased to announce The Foot Therapy Centre is open to new and existing patients. Anyone wishing to book an appointment can do so by phoning 07387402557 or by emailing [email protected]. Alternatively, those looking to use the service can also in to the practice at 1a, Chain Lane, Newport, PO30 5QA
The news comes just weeks after Island Echo helped save the Museum of Ryde from closure – https://www.islandecho.co.uk/island-echo-applauded-for-saving-musuem-of-ryde-after-funding-boost/.
