Staff and Children at Tops Newport are celebrating a positive visit from Ofsted inspectors in which they were given a ‘Good’ rating. According to the Ofsted report, ‘children excitedly come into nursery and have warm and secure bonds with staff. The report also states that staff have high expectations for children’s behaviour and children learn to take risks safely and staff support children as they learn to risk assess for themselves. For example, older children learn to climb trees in forest school and younger children develop their skills as they balance along obstacle courses. The report also noted that; ‘the curriculum focuses on children being resilient, confident, independent, and creative. It builds on what children know and can do as they progress through the nursery. There are high expectations for children and their development’. The inspector said:
“Parents speak highly of the provision and the warm and welcoming staff. They comment that children have a strong sense of belonging at the nursery. Parents note that there is a conscious effort to support and include children with SEND. Staff support parents with ideas on how to support learning at home to further develop children’s learning.”.
Lauren Parris, Nursery Manager at Tops Newport said:
“I am extremely proud of the whole team. We have worked so hard to get this result. The team always provide exciting experiences for all the children and that’s exactly what the Ofsted inspector saw. Every single parent praised the staff team and showed off how amazing the staff are, we were extremely grateful and appreciate the response and kind comments made. This goes to show that our staff engage with the parents’ wishes and go above and beyond for both the parent and child. We could not be more grateful”. “Tops Newport is part of a sustainable day nursery chain, Tops Day Nurseries, who have over 30 nurseries across the South and Southwest. Tops Newport offers flexible early education and care for children aged 3 months to school age”.

Clearly the designers didn’t take current potential weather conditions into account with the design of FB^ 🙁
Wrong kind of water for FB6!
Only about 30 mph today.
The floating turd ..it’s on bloody chains can’t go far..only goes forward and back…but ye that’s too much for it..
Exactly, can go forward and back but not side to side, so the wind pushing it about makes it impossible to dock safely. Makes sense really.
Is it April fools day. You couldn’t dream this up
A tunnel would not be affected by adverse weather
Flooding due to heavy rain? It happens to the train tunnel in Ryde (And yes I know about the euro tunnel, but they compete with the ferry and aeroplane companies)
School kids have been put on a bust to Newport ( from Cowes school) and presumably then on to E Cowes…
Why only good?!., does an Excellent not exist.

There are four ratings and “good” is below “outstanding”.
