Aspiring business owners on the Isle of Wight are being encouraged to turn their ideas into reality with the return of the Isle of Wight Lottery Business Start Up Course.
The one-day programme, organised as part of the Isle of Wight Lottery’s work to support local enterprise, is designed to give would-be entrepreneurs the confidence and knowledge needed to launch their own businesses.
Sponsored by Red Funnel, the course is delivered by experienced business mentors and covers a range of practical topics, including operating as a sole trader or company, bookkeeping, insurance and professional services.
The initiative has been supporting Island entrepreneurs and new businesses since 2000, helping to create hundreds of jobs across the Island.
The informal sessions are aimed at those considering self-employment, offering friendly advice and the opportunity to meet like-minded people.
Thanks to Red Funnel’s support, the cost of attending the course is just £16.
Five sessions are scheduled for the remainder of 2026, with events taking place at Goddards Brewery and Caffè Isola.
The upcoming dates are:
- 25th June – Goddards Brewery
- 23rd July – Goddards Brewery
- 17th September – Caffè Isola
- 22nd October – Goddards Brewery
- 17th November – Caffè Isola
