Multi award-winning writers and actors David J. Keogh and Seth Jones have announced dates of their new comedy, Past Tents, also starring Mark Keegan, at the Minghella Theatre, Quay Arts on October 20th and 21st, 2023.
Past Tents is the story of 2 desperate people at the end of their tent ropes, forced into each other’s company. It’s about life, death and how people really need to talk more about the things they are going through!
When Alan’s (Seth’s) car crashes in the middle of nowhere, he hopes his bad day (which started with his wife leaving him) can’t get any worse…And of course it does.
After trudging through the muddy countryside, he comes across a campsite run by the rather eccentric Virgil (Mark Keegan). With no other options and no signal on his phone, he has no choice but to stay the night.
Unfortunately for Alan there’s only 1 plot left, in-between a dog-poo bin and the rather annoying Justin (David Keogh).
Justin is everything Alan despises – a positive family man with his life completely in control…or is he? Because things are not what they seem and as the tension builds between the men, they start to reveal their true selves with hilarious and rather unfortunate consequences.
Whilst this is a comedy, the intent of this play is to help spread the message of men’s (and others) mental health issues and help people with issues such as suicide/toxic masculinity/grief/depression/neurodivergence and illness.
Past Tents is from the team that brought you the comedies, ‘Welcome to The Fringe’ and ‘Someone Like You’ and is a surprise package of a play that will make you laugh, cry and give you the best night out at Quay Arts on 20th/21st October.

Will this be filmed? Sadly, during the production run, I’m involved in a production of ‘Kinky Boots, the Musical’, so I cannot attend.
Hardly likely that they would allow a touring show to be filmed now is it Stefan.

hardly a comedy then is it – more a chance to spread more woke BS
