A popular coaching hotel in Shanklin, Daish’s, will continue to trade as normal in 2024 and beyond as the company confirms it is not one of 3 hotels being sold. The holiday group purchased its first hotel back in 1979, which was the hotel in the Old Village – described as the group’s flagship. The 72-bedroom hotel is popular with those seeking the sun on the Isle of Wight and has been for well over 120 years. But in order to provide long-term stability for the business, Daish’s has decided to reduce its overall portfolio. Property agents Savills have recently been instructed to sell 3 of Daish’s hotels; Barrowfield Hotel in Newquay; County Hotel in Kendal and Daish’s Blackpool. The good news is that Shanklin is not being sold off. Paul Harper, commercial director at Daish’s Holidays, has said:
“There are no plans for the Daish’s Hotel in Shanklin to be sold. We are looking forward to continuing to provide great value, traditional holiday experiences for many decades to come from our flagship Isle of Wight hotel”.
George Brown, Managing Director of Daish’s, has previously commented:
“Whilst we will be sad to see such great assets go, and it is with a heavy heart that we put these on the market, we will continue to expand the Daish’s portfolio, looking for hotels that we feel offer a better fit for our customers.”

The nail is in the Coffin for Daish’s in Shanklin
I’d heard it was going to be turned into a HMO.
County Hall would make a great HMO
