Returning for the 3rd year, Warrior Festival 2023 is to be held at the new venue of Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde on Saturday 15th July.
Over the past 2 years, Warrior Festival has hosted a total of 16 bands and 1,500 happy festival goers, whilst raising vital funds and awareness for The Wight Brainy Bunch Charity.
Warrior Festival is a 1-day, family friendly event with performances this year from 11 of the best Island bands, including the brilliant Beth Brookfield, Arctic Junkies, Foo Fighterz, Storm, Vote Pedro, Blonde Bombshell, The Resisters, Bowies Heroes, Spammy Otis, Meg Rasmussen and Simon Holmes Music. This year, for the first time, younger Island talent will also be showcased with the addition of the Platform One stage.
Also new for 2023, Warrior Festival has an indoor VIP lounge, with its own bar, toilet facilities and outside viewing platform. In the main arena there will be a variety of food and drink options available provided by local vendors, and a large area to keep the younger guests entertained with rides, games, face-painting and inflatables.
The Isle of Wight is privileged to have such an incredible music scene, and Warrior Festival is a wonderful opportunity to showcase some of this talent, all on 1 stage. Many of the bands
performing also appear at some of the UK’s larger festivals.
The original idea for Warrior Festival came about when a close friend of the organiser was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. The help and support he received from The Wight Brainy Bunch inspired the desire to give something back.
Toby Sleight of Foo Fighterz said:
“I wanted to put on a small charity gig hosted by the islands Foo Fighters tribute band but this snowballed as more local musicians offered to get involved”
The Wight Brainy Bunch provides invaluable emotional support and financial assistance to families affected by the devastating effects of brain tumours. The charity was founded by Ryde Firefighter Mark Grimes and his wife Kathryn, following Mark’s diagnosis of a brain tumour in February 2015.
Tickets are priced at just £20 and free for under 12s. Camping and VIP Access tickets are also available. Tickets are on sale via The Price Is Wight with all proceeds in aid of The Wight Brainy Bunch.
