A teenage girl has been rescued from the sea in Shanklin after fears that she could be drowning this afternoon (Tuesday).
Emergency services including HM Coastguard were called at around 15:50 after the teen was seen to be struggling in the water on the stretch of beach near to Hope Hill.
HM Coastguard tasked Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams to the incident to provide aid to the teen and any further assistance in a rescue capacity.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service also mobilised an ambulance to the scene to provide the necessary medical care to the casualty.
Rescue teams stood down at around 16:25 after passing the casualty into the care of paramedics.
