A Newport man who dangerously drove his Jaguar as Police conducted a raid on his house has been handed a suspended prison sentence and slapped with a ban from the roads.
Christopher Hall, 31, of Pan Lane, appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing last week following the incident in November 2024.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police forced entry to an address early on the morning of the 28th.
During the raid, a Jaguar driven by Hall collided with another vehicle, a Volvo. The Jag was then driven away from the scene, returning just a few minutes later.
In February this year, Hall changed his plea to guilty, admitting that he had driven the Jaguar XF in a dangerous manner.
The 31-year-old has now been sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 2 years, and has been banned from driving for 12 months. He must pass an extended test before being allowed back on the roads.
As part of the suspended sentence order, Hall must complete 150 hours of unpaid work and undertake up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity. A victim surcharge of £187 has been imposed.

10 year driving bans would be a better deterrent!
Tag and curfew, try that.
Pathetic prick pathetic sentence.
