44-year-old Gareth Wheeler, who sexually abused a number of children over several years, is facing prison time after admitting a total of 25 sexual offences.
Wheeler, of Blackthorn Close in Oakfield, Ryde, appeared before the Isle of Wight Crown Court earlier this week (Tuesday), where he was asked to enter pleas for a total of 25 different offences – many involving young children.
At Tuesday’s hearing, which was scheduled as a further case management hearing, Wheeler entered guilty pleas to all charges, which included child sex offences such as sexual assault of a child, engaging in sexual activity with a child, and making indecent images of children.
He was also caught in possession of bestiality images.
The paedophile, who first appeared in court back in February, is said to have previously found the court environment ‘remarkably stressful’, which led to the case being adjourned. He will now face his fate at a sentencing hearing on 6th November.
Judge Newton-Price adjourned the case and granted Wheeler conditional bail.
Gareth Wheeler has been handed an interim notification order, meaning he must sign the sexual offenders register immediately.
