A woman has suffered serious injuries following a single vehicle collision in Godshill last night (Saturday).
Police were called at around 22:55 to reports of a single vehicle collision on the High Street in Godshill.
At the scene a white VW Transporter, travelling toward Sanford, collided with a brick wall opposite Godshill Model Village.
A plethora of resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to the scene with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance also requested.
Having tended to the casualty on the ground for around 60 minutes, the casualty was transferred to the helicopter and conveyed to Southampton General Hospital.
Police have since confirmed that a woman in her 30s suffered serious injuries.
Road closures were put in place until the early hours whilst police carried out initial investigations into the collision.
Southern Vectis buses were forced to divert during the incident but have since returned to their usual route.
