West Wight keeper Joe McCormackBrading Town have maintained their 100% record in the season to date in Harwoods Division 1 by comprehensively beating last season’s runners up West Wight at Vicarage Lane yesterday evening (Tuesday). The Romans, playing up the slope in the first half, began the game on the front foot when Ellis Lomas diverted a corner past West Wight keeper Joe McCormack with a glancing header in the 5th minute of the game (1-0). West Wight also had their chances with Aiden Jones heading just past the left post on the half hour mark and were also awarded an indirect free kick in a dangerous position in the penalty area after McCormack handled a back pass, which was dispatched high over the crossbar. Half time: Brading Town 1-0 West WightBrading v West Wight (Dan Vale centre) The Romans continued their onslaught in the 2nd half with Kaylen Warrington having a goal attempt fisted over the crossbar by McCormack in the 57th minute and Lewis Parsons having a powerful strike saved by the West Wight keeper. The away side also had opportunities to score with Josh Daley heading at Brading keeper Andy Morey from a promising position and a Brading player directing a header onto his own crossbar. 3 goals in 7 minutes then ensured Brading Town retained all 3 points. First, Liam Bennett added the Romans 2nd with a close range effort in the 75th minute (2-0). 2 minutes later, captain and man-of-the-match Dan Vale added a 3rd (3-0). YACHTSMEN VICTORIOUS FOR FIRST TIME THIS SEASON
Cowes Sports have recorded their first win in any competition in the season to date by winning away at Wessex Division 1 outfit Romsey Town in the Hampshire Senior Cup. After a goalless first half, Scott McFarlane gave the Yachtsmen a 2nd half lead (0-1), Will Bridi added a 2nd with a spectacular volley after lobbing the ball over a Romsey defender (0-2), with the 3rd goal coming courtesy of captain Fin Phillips (0-3).
