A desperate appeal is being made to help locate Muffin, a missing dog who escaped from a garden in the Chillerton area on 11th June, as concerns for his welfare continue to grow.
Specialist search support is being provided by Drone SAR For Lost Dogs IOW, a volunteer-led team dedicated to locating and safely recovering lost and missing dogs across the Island.
Muffin is an extremely nervous dog and has been described as being extremely frightened by both adults and children.
A spokesperson for Drone SAR For Lost Dogs IOW has warned that if approached, called, chased or if members of the public attempt to catch him, Muffin will likely run away, making his return home less likely for the team and his owners.
At this stage, specialist advice indicates that the safest and most effective way to secure Muffin will be through immediately reporting the exact location and direction of travel that you see him going.
Island Echo understands that so far throughout the search, there have been no reported sightings of Muffin, meaning that reports of his location from anyone who does come across him is vital in helping the team build a picture of his movements.
Search teams, including Drone SAR For Lost Dogs IOW, are working to gather information.
If you see Muffin, report it immediately to Drone Sar For Lost Dogs IOW here: 07876 011574.
