The major search for missing Rosie Johnson continues on the Isle of Wight today (Wednesday) as Police grow increasingly concerned for the 22-year-old’s welfare.
Rosie, who comes from Glasgow, hasn’t been seen in over 48 hours. Hampshire Constabulary say she left PGL’s Little Canada Activity Centre on New Road in Wootton on Sunday evening and hasn’t been seen since.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police have been joined by HM Coastguard, WightSAR, Ryde Rescue and the National Police Air Service helicopter in the search thus far. Many of those resources will be on the ground again today in a bid to locate the missing activities instructor.
Hampshire SAR have been deployed from the mainland this morning to assist colleagues from Isle of Wight Search and Rescue.
Last night the search shifted south to Wootton Creek, Firestone Copse and the surrounding areas. WightSAR deployed a drone in the skies above Wootton and HM Coastguard carried out a shoreline search from Ryde, but Rosie was not located.
Rosie is described as having mousey brown hair and is of slim build. She was last seen wearing a dark blue puffa jacket and trousers.
Colleagues from PGL were searching where they could in the area of Wootton yesterday evening and Miss Johnson’s family are thought to be flying down from Scotland to be close to the ongoing investigation.
Members of the local community are being asked to help Police by checking sheds, boats and outbuildings.
If you think you might have seen Rosie since she went missing, or have any information about where she might be, call Police as a matter of urgency on 101 quoting 44190217273.
