Police have closed a busy road between Downend and Arreton this afternoon (Friday).
The incident occurred at around 12:30 at the Arreton junction and has seen 2 cars, a red Mazda and a red Ford, crash.
Downend Road has been closed from the junction at The Hare and Hounds until the junction with the A3056 in Arreton.
Units from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are currently on the scene.
It is unclear as to how the crash occurred or how serious it is.
This is the 4th crash of the day after incidents on Fairlee Road in Newport and Brading Downs Road this morning as well as another incident involving a car and a scooter in Niton a few hours later.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @13:00 – Minor injuries to those involved have been reported and the vehicles are currently being removed from the highway.

Wonder what the average age of the tailgaters was, GD.For sure they must have been all oldies, who, as Rob A suggests, should be banned.
