Mountbatten charity shops have once again been forced to close following the second national lockdown.
Mountbatten, the Island’s Hospice, rely on the generosity of your donations to keep their Mountbatten charity shops well-stocked with quality second-hand items.
All the proceeds from their charity shops go towards providing services for Island people who are facing death, dying and bereavement.
Shops will be closed from the 5th November and due to reopen 2nd December 2020.
Do not leave donations on their doorsteps is the message from Mountbatten.
A spokesperson for Mountbatten has said:
“We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our Island community in recent months and we will need your support again, more than ever, when our shops open again.
“Please do not leave donations on our shop doorsteps.
“Once we reopen, we will be again be using a booking system for all new donations via our Newport warehouse on Riverway Industrial Estate.
“We thank you for your understanding and patience.”

A superb charity, and wonderful people at the ‘front line’, please assist these people all you can.
Fly tipping is a problem for all charity shops, the people who do this are to idle to go to the tip and to embarrassed to bring it into the shop, they just dump it in the doorways so some idiot can come along afterwards rip open the bags throw it all over the pavement, and for what. Leaving the staff to pick up all sorts the following day, this is not donating, this is getting rid of your rubbish.
