Vectis Refrigeration has secured national recognition after being shortlisted in 2 categories at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards 2026 for an innovative diagnostic platform developed by its founder.
Wisdom Hub®, a field diagnostic platform created by Wisdom Group FM Ltd and first deployed within Vectis Refrigeration Ltd, has been named as a finalist for both Cooling Product of the Year and Training Initiative of the Year.
The double shortlist places the independent Isle of Wight business alongside some of the refrigeration industry’s largest multinational companies.
Developed by founder Will Overton, Wisdom Hub® was created to tackle the growing skills gap facing the sector as experienced engineers retire, taking decades of technical knowledge with them.
Rather than relying on guesswork when diagnosing faults, the platform guides engineers through structured diagnostic pathways, helping engineers identify problems in a logical sequence based on real-world field experience.
The recognition reflects both the platform’s practical use in the field and its role in supporting the next generation of engineers.
In the Cooling Product of the Year category, Wisdom Hub® has been recognised as a practical diagnostic tool already being used by Vectis Refrigeration to capture job knowledge and improve on-site technical reporting.
Its Training Initiative of the Year nomination acknowledges how the platform enables less-experienced engineers to access senior-level fault-finding processes in real time while on the job, rather than relying solely on classroom-based learning.

“If you had told me a few years ago that our independent island business would be shortlisted at the national awards alongside the biggest names in the industry, I wouldn’t have believed it.

“Brilliant knowledge is walking out of the industry as veterans retire. Fault-finding shouldn’t be a dark art; it should be structured and teachable.

The winners will be announced at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards ceremony on Thursday 24th September at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London.
Wisdom Hub® is now being developed for wider commercial release by Wisdom Group FM Ltd following its successful deployment within Vectis Refrigeration Ltd.
