One of the Isle of Wight’s best-known visitor attractions is looking for a new General Manager, with Heritage Great Britain offering a salary of around £70,000 plus benefits to lead The Needles Landmark Attraction.
The attraction, which welcomes around 500,000 visitors each year, is seeking an experienced operational leader to oversee the famous Alum Bay site and its diverse range of attractions, catering, retail and visitor experiences.
The successful applicant’s key focus will be the overall operational leadership of the business, its estate and assets, ensuring the continued delivery and further development of the high-quality customer experience while delivering solid financial results.
The role includes overseeing attractions such as the iconic chairlift to Alum Bay beach, boat trips to The Needles, the Alum Bay Glass Studio, Victorian Sweet Manufactory, Sand Shop, family rides and adventure golf, alongside the site’s retail and catering operations.
The new General Manager will also be expected to lead and develop the existing professional team, work with regional tourism organisations and the local community, and build positive relationships with neighbouring landowners, including the National Trust, and other Isle of Wight stakeholders.
Heritage Great Britain says the attraction benefits from ongoing investment, including a significant winter maintenance programme designed to maintain the highest standards of operation and presentation.
The salary reflects the seniority and responsibility of the position, with a package of around £70,000 plus benefits, negotiable depending on experience. Relocation support is also available where appropriate.
