The Cowes Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (CAODS) has announced that the highly successful Phoenix Choir will be performing a fundraising concert at Trinity Theatre from 19:30 on Saturday 22nd April in aid of their roof appeal.
Opened in 1914, Trinity Theatre in Cowes has been at the heart of the community for over a century and is currently home to Cowes Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (CAODS), one of the longest running amateur dramatic theatre companies in the UK.
However, the beautiful Victorian building is now in need of considerable work for roof repair, new changing facilities and improved disability access and past president of CAODS Dinah Bowman says they are delighted at the announcement of the fundraising event:
“We are thrilled that the Phoenix Choir team has selected Trinity Theatre’s Roof Appeal as one of their deserving causes for the Choir’s 2023 series of popular concerts. I would encourage all who love easy listening songs to come and enjoy a great night out and help us raise the roof … literally!”
In additional to music from other genres, the mixed choir will be singing a variety of songs from musicals and films including ‘Phantom Of The Opera’, ‘Cats’, ‘Fiddler On The Roof’, ‘Gladiator’, ‘The Lion King’, ‘Cabaret’ and Lloyd Webber’s ‘Requiem’.
Admission is free with a retiring collection.
