A brand new Hoverbus will begin operations in Southsea on Wednesday following a change of provider, with prices set to be reduced. From Wednesday 1st May, First Bus will take on responsibility for running the bus service between Hovertravel’s Southsea terminal and Portsmouth City Centre. The new contract means the service will see a newer vehicle and an all-new look. To be competitive within the Portsmouth area, there will also be some price reductions. Hovertravel has confirmed that all other aspects, such as the route and timetable remain the same. Sadly, the current drivers will be remaining with their employers – but Hovertravel has thanked them for providing a friendly and professional service in recent years. Passengers will need to show a Hoverbus ticket or pass when boarding.

That’s not a Hover Bus! Lies!
You are right, I can deffo see wheels on it!
I can only imagine that if price is going to be reduced that it will include zero hour contracts for the drivers. The present drivers would not want to change over.
nope – first bus have far more buses in and around pompey – it will be staffed with full time drivers
What when none of drivers have been learned the route yet.! Most of first bus lost route to stagecoach as first couldn’t keep and look after there buses. This is a 67 plate E200 mmc there using from Fareham bus way. They could of use a new 73 plate electric bus
are you for real shaun – first buses pass the hover terminal in southsea and stop at the harbour every few minutes or so from various routes around the city – the drivers already know the city – and the hoverbus only has four stops – the hard, commercial road, station stop and then southsea hoverport.
Cheaper Hovercraft fares would be a great idea.
