It has been a fantastic 2 weeks of fundraising for Ventnor’s St Catherine’s Speech and Language School, which supports students with speech, language and communication needs.
First up, was the Isle of Wight Festival, where volunteers welcomed festival-goers to a lively fundraising area featuring a popular tuck shop, colourful face painting and sparkling festival glitter.
The activities proved to be a huge hit with families and visitors of all ages, creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere throughout the weekend while raising valuable funds for the charity.
The School then held is Summer Fair the following week on Friday 26th June. This event is an annual highlight in the School’s year, with former students and the local community, joining current students and their families for an afternoon of activities and entertainment.
Tanya Smith, Fundraising and Marketing Assistant said:
“We are absolutely thrilled with the support we’ve received over the past fortnight, which helped raise £5,920. Both the Isle of Wight Festival and our Summer Fair had such a fantastic atmosphere, with so many people coming together to have fun while supporting our cause. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated and helped make these events such a success. Every pound raised will help us to create a new playground for our younger students.”
