Members of Vectis Corps of Drums proudly represented the Isle of Wight during London Band Week last weekend, taking part in a parade through some of the capital’s most historic ceremonial streets.
The group marched past Buckingham Palace and on towards Horse Guards, following a route associated with Britain’s military pageantry. They joined 26 bands from across the UK and America creating a striking mix of sounds, styles, and traditions for spectators to enjoy.

Their mix of our traditional and popular music was warmly received by spectators, many of whom sang along as the band marched past. Medina Marching Band also attended this prestigious event, entertaining the crowd as part of a drum-line contest at the end of the parade.
Having 2 bands from the Island performing in the capital highlighted the depth of musical talent and dedication among local musicians, both young and old.
Bandmaster Dave said:
“I’m incredibly proud of the band’s performance and the dedication and commitment shown by all our members in representing the Isle of Wight as part of the wider international musical community”
