Mountbatten’s collection of beautiful plants and flowers will be showcased during a special event this weekend. For the first time, the hospice is taking part in the National Open Garden Scheme, an initiative celebrating vibrant gardens across the country. Mountbatten’s award-winning Chelsea Garden, installed in 2016 and officially opened by Alan Titchmarsh, is the centrepiece. Nigel Hartley, CEO of Mountbatten, says:
“We are thrilled to be part of this year’s National Open Garden Scheme. “While our garden is open to the public all year round for everyone to enjoy, this weekend gives a special emphasis to the wonderful outside space we have at Mountbatten. “We are incredibly lucky to have a small group of volunteers who do an amazing job of keeping the garden looking so colourful. “Our garden offers a space for social connections, quiet contemplation and reflection and we really encourage people to come along to see it.”
The garden boasts a variety of interesting, planted areas that includes trees, shrubs, herbaceous, grasses, water feature and decking with an abundance of wildlife. Free parking is available at Mountbatten and the hospice café will be open, serving a range of drinks, cakes and snacks.

Every time your in your van I see you with ur little pecker out
I can never understand why the police do not put up a photo when people go missing surely the more the public know the quicker the missing person are likely to be found, time is crucial in these ki d of circumstances.
Possibly because the person is classed as vulnerable?
When a person is classed as vulnerable surely that’s more of a reason to find them as soon as possible.
The reason you don’t understand is because you’re not part of the police force so they dont tell you. We can be sure they have their reasons and haven’t forgotten there are such thngs as photos. It may be, for example, that a proportion of ppl who go missing would feel panicked to see a photo of them doung the rounds and come to harm as a result of that pressure on them. They may be classed ‘missing’ but just want the hell out of their current circumstances and want to be left alone.
