What about getting the vehicle GV57RZN with NO MOT that is parked outside
115 Great Preston Rd Ryde moved.
I wouldn’t mind it gets used on a regular basis and is taking up a space a
Law abiding motorist can use.
“” IS IT NOT AN OFFENCE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE ON THE ISLAND WITH NO MOT “”
No mot is a reportable offence to Hampshire Constabulary but only when the car is driven. If the car is parked with no mot then the police can not do anything about it. But report it to them so they can keep an eye open for it whilst on patrol.
Have you left a polite note on the car windscreen.? Perhaps the owner has a hectic lifestyle and has not realised the mot has expired.? A polite note may remind them.
It is used regularly. I am surprised it’s not been caught by Plod.
Island roads will remove an abandoned vehicle but,,, if it is taxed then they wont touch it! We have had a few vehicles left for longer than 14 days but as they are taxed its not their problem!
SJB , I think you will find that if it’s on a road, that is maintained at public expense, then even if it’s parked it is using the road. What should also be considered is if it’s insured, it needs a current MoT certificate , providing its over 3 years old. as part of the conditions of liability is “is the vehicle in a road worthy condition, with no MoT ? But theN that would take a police officer with the investigative skill, to detect and unfortunately there do not appear to have any
We’ve had a van parked outside our house for nearly 2 years, no tax or mot, Island Roads put an aware sticker on the vehicle 2 weeks ago, telling owner that if not moved within 7 days, they would remove it. 2 weeks later still there, not been removed by owner or Island roads.
Does not surprise me David ,the Island is run by uneducated clueless people.
Yet IW Council are quick to send out G’est apo enforcement officers to book
vehicles who goes over their parking time.
Also look at all the vehicles that park illegally in Sandown on Double Yellow lines
Outside the Pier, Napoleons Reach and the Premier Inn and nothing gets done about it.
This Council is a disgrace.
john says….Does not surprise me David ,the Island is run by uneducated clueless people
this is what happens when you prioritise equality and diversity over the best person for the job.
you end up with rainbow mediocrity, which translates into people in positions that they are not capable of doing, but they ticked a box, so they got the job over a more qualified person.
I could not have put it better myself.
Brains is better than Brawn, the Island employ Brawn.
Who is your local councillor get onto them to ask questions asto WHY this matter is being ignored. The truth possibly is the cost of removal and the monies raised from its disposal would cost the council.is it a danger to the other road users, in reality it will go in the tooo difficult box, or, that means someone will have to work for their wages.
Councillors only act if receiving brown envelopes.
It is refreshing to see some new names amongst the Court round up this week instead of the same old island names week in week out.
I even spotted some double barrel names this week, the Court must be moving upmarket.
Disappointing to see yet more drink and drug driving offences. Surely by now drivers must know not to get behind the wheel of a car after a drink or a marijuana smoke, why do they still do it.?
Sadly double barrelled is because mum n dad aren’t married. Opposite of posh nowadays
The “Double-barrell” probably means parents not married and could not decide what to name the child. Nothing “upmarket” here.
sounds a mess….name ocean, junkie driver, referred to as “they” in the article…didn’t realise there were more than one person in the Dock called ocean..after all, “they” being used in this sense, means plural, more than one person
Joke a they them type of person. Lol in scanners close too. !! Freaks
Get with it – Non-binary classification, and uses the personal pronoun Mx (pronounced mix) and woe betide ‘they’ use a male or female toilet.
Scum the lot of them, Scum never learn.
Remember – everyone deserves a second chance
no they don’t -paedo’s, rapists and murderers have done all their chances
Ocean though?!! What chance does a person have with a name like that? Unless your parents are rich celebrities…
At this rate the roads will soon be quiet, the amount of idiots losing their license for drink / drug driving is astonishing.
And what makes you think they will obey the law this time?
