Starsailor are returning to the Isle of Wight this Friday (4th September), with the chart-topping indie rockers set to take to the stage at Strings in Newport.
The full-band show comes less than 3 months after Starsailor performed at the Isle of Wight Festival in June and ahead of a major tour celebrating 25 years since the release of their acclaimed debut album, Love Is Here.
Formed in the late 1990s, Starsailor became one of the best-known British guitar bands of the early 2000s, going on to achieve 10 UK Top 40 singles.
Their 2001 debut Love Is Here reached number 2 in the UK Albums Chart and went multi-platinum, spawning singles including Good Souls, Alcoholic and Poor Misguided Fool.
They followed it with Silence Is Easy in 2003, which also reached number 2 and included the title track and Four to the Floor – the latter becoming an international hit following a dance remix.
More than 2 decades on, Starsailor continue to record and tour, releasing their 7th studio album, Where the Wild Things Grow, in 2024.
Friday’s appearance will see frontman James Walsh return to familiar territory, having previously played a number of solo shows at Strings.
This time, however, Walsh will be joined by the full Starsailor line-up for an intimate performance at the Newport venue.
The gig comes ahead of the band’s Love Is Here 25th anniversary tour, which will see the landmark album performed in full at venues across the UK and Europe later this year.
