The first 4 performers set to appear at the 2027 IW Story Festival have been revealed, including bestselling comic creator Jamie Smart and award-winning Isle of Wight author Kieran Larwood.
The festival will return from 18th February until 20th February, promising a programme of stories, illustration, theatre and creative activities for children and families.
Jamie Smart, the bestselling comic creator behind Bunny vs Monkey, is among the first names confirmed for the 2027 event.
He will be joined by Isle of Wight author Kieran Larwood, known for the award-winning Podkin One-Ear series and Dungeon Runners.
Treehouse Theatre will bring interactive, family-friendly performances to the festival, while internationally published children’s author and storyteller Chitra Soundar will also appear.
Organisers say the first announcement offers an early glimpse of the programme, with further performers, workshops and activities due to be revealed over the coming months.
The festival celebrates storytelling in its different forms, ranging from books and illustration to live performances and participatory theatre.
Elspeth Giddens, Story Festival Director, has said:
“We are thrilled to announce Jamie Smart, Kieran Larwood, Treehouse Theatre and Chitra Soundar as the first performers for the IW Story Festival.
“Each brings something special to the programme, and together they set the tone for a joyful celebration of stories, creativity and imagination.”
Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 on 7th September 2027 here or from the Box Office at Quay Arts.
