West Wight golfer Ryan Harmer has claimed his first Clutch Pro Tour victory after firing a course-record 10-under-par round at Reigate Hill.
The 30-year-old former Freshwater Bay Golf Club junior and club champion took the £3,000 top prize after winning the 2-round Tier 2 competition in Surrey by 3 shots on Thursday (3rd September).
Ryan began with an excellent opening round of 7 under par, giving him a 1-shot lead going into the final 18 holes.
He then produced an even better performance in the final round, shooting 10 under par to set a new Reigate Hill course record and finish the tournament 17 under overall.
His 2-round total proved enough to secure victory by 3 shots from a field of 156 golfers.
After securing his breakthrough victory, Harmer said:

The win has moved Harmer into 2nd place in the Tier 2 Order of Merit with just 2 events remaining.
A strong finish to the season could give the Island golfer the opportunity to step up to the HotelPlanner Tour, the level immediately below the DP World Tour.
Ryan began playing golf as a junior at Freshwater Bay and went on to become club champion before establishing himself in the professional game. He is currently tour pro at Mannings Heath Golf Club.
He has also represented Hampshire at men’s and Under-21 level and was part of the county side that won the English County Championship in 2017.
Ryan’s goal is to reach the DP World Tour, where fellow West Wight golfer Brandon Robinson Thompson has already competed.
With 2 Tier 2 events remaining, Harmer sits 2nd in the Order of Merit and firmly in contention for the chance to take the next step up the professional golfing ladder
