Households across the Isle of Wight will this week receive their letter from the Prime Minister urging residents to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
Letters have started to land on doorsteps across the Island today (Monday) with all 70,000 local households due to receive a copy.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has outlined the guidance everyone should follow and the measures the Government has put in place to fight coronavirus and to support businesses and workers.
The message is clear – you must stay at home.
A leaflet outlining the Government’s advice accompanies the letter, with clear explanations of symptoms, hand washing guidance, rules on leaving the house, self-isolating with symptoms and shielding vulnerable people.
The Prime Minister is continuing to lead the Government’s response to coronavirus as he self isolates after testing positive for the virus. Boris was admitted to hospital yesterday but is said to be in good spirits.
The letter drop has cost the taxpayer around £5.8million.

This not just starting, we had ours last week.
Still waiting!! If they’re doing it alphabetically we should be lucky this week!!
Not sure that it is alphabetical – my surname begins with T and we had ours last week
Not had mine yet, but my wife and I are staying in as much as we can, only going to get essential shopping, she works at the hospital so has to work, but, please do only go out if you really need too. I hope Boris gets over the virus very soon.
What a waste of money I’m sure everyone has seen or heard about staying in and washing hands a thousand times
Sadly, may be the last, PM taken into intensive care now according to news. Lets hope he is ok, as seems to try to do his best. Good Luck Bo, the sensible leave’s are behind you.
so sad
We got a second lot today, same s**t different day, they cost apparently around 5.5 million to produce and post. We’ve had two lots now all in the bin , dare I suggest they stop posting this rubbish, save trees and spend the money on giving health workers proper P.P.E.
Sorry if I’ve upset your Tory sensitivities….not!
