IW Met Service has issued a yellow weather warning for ice, with the forecast predicting temperature as low as -4c overnight on Wednesday into Thursday morning.
It’s said that patchy rain and sleet is likely to fall across the Island through Wednesday afternoon and evening, perhaps turning to wet snow in western and northwestern areas.
Once the skies clear later in the night, temperatures will drop significantly with 0c to -2c likely, perhaps even as low as -4c in some low lying rural spots, freezing any remaining surface water.
Rural parts of the Isle of Wight will be most affected with extremely slippery, hazardous driving conditions to be expected across the Island.
The warning is in force from 01:00 until 13:00 on Thursday (9th January).
You guys at ”island echo” be busy tomorrow. Hope your ready for all the ninnys who end up in a hedge or on their roofs and blame conditions after a hundred cars drive the exact piece of road in the same conditions and manage to stay upright.
You are spot on.
Today even though many parts of the island are flooded
the usual Caulkhead Numpty’s are still driving too fast.
Makes one wonder if they were they born stupid!
