The former Ventnor Police Station and adjoining Police house could be converted into 2x 3-bedroom houses, if plans are approved by the local authority.
Mr K Sussmilch of Hamborough (IoW) Ltd. has applied to the Isle of Wight Council to convert the redundant 1960s buildings off Hamborough Road into residential properties.
The 2 buildings, which have remained empty for a number of years, were purchased by the Hamborough group around 3 years ago, completing the ownership of the land and buildings in the area between Church View and The Hamborough.
The former Police Station was closed shortly after a decision was made on its future back in 2011. The axe fell on Yarmouth and Cowes police stations at the same time, both of which have since been redeveloped.
It is planned that each new home will boast 3 bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen, a garden and parking for 2 cars. Each property will feature a downstairs WC and a separate shower room, with a bath upstairs.
Islanders have until 6th October to comment on the plans under the reference 23/01455/FUL.

more airbnbs no doubt -vile
Yes, how dare we entice tourists and their cash to our island to support our struggling economy and local businesses.
Too grim for words…
Chin up, the Tories will buy votes with tax cuts.
How some appropriate public property at knock down prices and then rent it back to the public. Organised crime
May be wiser to buy more homes to turn INTO Police Stations and cells with the growing rubbish, tax credit funded womb owners churn out now, along with flotsam from sunnier climes.
