A medical emergency prompted a multi agency response to Culver Down this afternoon (Friday).
St John’s Ambulance paramedics working on behalf of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service responded to the scene at just after 14:00.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team was also tasked to assist in moving the casualty from their position near to the edge of the cliff to the waiting Ambulance.
The road navigating the former gun placements was blocked for a time.
UPDATE @ 15:46 – It’s understood that a man suffered a medical episode whilst walking on Culver Down.
He was conveyed to hospital via land ambulance, and is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries as a result of the episode.
