Driving tests and lessons on the Isle of Wight will once again be suspended following the second national lockdown announcement.
The suspension will come into force from Thursday 5th November until Tuesday 2nd December 2020.
Islanders who were planning to take their tests this month will have to wait a while until after lockdown 2.0 has ended.
Both driving tests and lessons will be suspended during this period.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has said:
“Following the Government announcement on tougher national restrictions from Thursday, driver and rider training and tests will be suspended in England from 5 November until 2 December 2020.
“We will be providing further guidance and contacting those affected as soon as we can.”
The DVSA said they were working closely with the Government to agree on the impact of the lockdown in England on DVSA services earlier on today (Monday) but has since been confirmed they will not be taking place during the month-long lockdown.
Back in March, it was announced that driving tests were to be suspended for up to 3 months during the first lockdown, however, this time seems to only be a third of that time.

With the standards of driving here on the Island lately, I had assumed that all lessons and tests had ended years ago.
Nice one Phil.
Thought people were supposed to work if they could
Many are, cash in hand, AND claiming furlough, hairdressers, beauty therapists, gardeners, etc etc
Ok for taxis to operate then!!.
I was supposed to take my driving test on Thursday which was the day the lockdown started so that meant that I couldn’t take it, when the lock down is over and the tests are back on will I be one of the ones to be put first in the line along with everyone else who would of had there cancelled because of this lockdown or would we be but at the back of the list after everyone who has already booked their driving tests for after lockdown?
