Countryfile presenter, John Craven, has visited the Island to film scenes for a new series of the BBC1’s Countryfile Summer Diaries, focusing on the people who live and work here.
John was on the Island in July, filming at a variety of locations across the Island including Newtown Nature Reserve, Yarmouth Harbour and Osborne.
Meanwhile, Margherita Taylor, another member of the Countryfile team, also filmed with the Garlic Farm to uncover the WW2 mission that brought garlic to the island – and with the team who have carried out a 30-year study into hay fever.
Countryfile is a weekly television programme which airs weekly on BBC One and reports on rural, agricultural and environmental issues in the UK. The Countryfile Summer Diaries daytime series is a spin-off programme which“unveils the stories behind an extraordinary season: summer.

The BBC One’s week long Countryfile Summer Diaries series goes out on BBC1, week commencing 28th August at 09:00 (09:15 on Tuesday and Friday) – and will be repeated on BBC2 the next day at 06:30 and the Isle of Wight will feature in episodes across the week.
