The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is currently in attendance at an emergency incident at a pub in Rookley this afternoon (Sunday).
2 ambulance crews from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are on scene at The Chequers Inn on Niton Road and have since been joined by flying doctors who made the trip over from Thruxton.
The incident occurred at around 14:00 with the air ambulance dispatched shortly after.
After circling around the fields nearby, many of which are populated with horses, the helicopter landed just behind the pub – next to the garden.
They then made the short 100-metre journey into the pub to assess the casualty, believed to be a male.
UPDATE MONDAY – It has sadly been confirmed that Mr Bill Gee passed away, despite the best efforts of medics and members of the public.
Let’s hope the person is OK, a worrying time for all family and friends .
