A further 6 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight, according to Public Health England.
The latest data reveals that the total number of cases identified locally since the start of the pandemic now sits at 492.
So far this month 15 cases have been confirmed on the Island. That compares to 44 in the month of September and just 10 in the whole of August.
Despite the rise in cases, there have been no reported deaths and the Island has avoided any local lockdown measures.

It would cert be nice to no in which area’s these cases are in and is anything actually going to be done about ??????
Why is this buried and not on the Echo’s front page.
This Winter will be where the real damage to both people and businesses will be heavily felt.
Thank goodness we have low imm igration numbers here, as mainland UK will suffer as more people arrive, and less jobs are now needed. Crime will rise dramatically, tax paid in will be far lower, yet those ‘taking’ from the pot, via rent, council tax rebate, child allowance, child tax credits, maternity grant, costly education and NHS costs, will cripple the lucky few who have work.
Dire times coming, and all this much swindled furlough cash will be need to be paid back, by those who never benefitted from it.
Enjoy the so few sunny days left now.
What’s the real purpose of your pointless and negative comment, exactly?
I know why this was buried, so it wouldn’t upset the tourist board, “Pugwash” and Seely.
And of course the Isle of Wight cllr. who has many seaside businesses in Ryde, who has done very, very well out of all of this.
Vote them OUT next time around.
How many actual cases are there? How many have recovered out of that 492 since the outbreak? And does that figure include those that have died. This is just sensationalism reporting.
