Members of Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to attend to an injured female in the vicinity of Brambles Chine this afternoon (Thursday).
HM Coastguard was requested to attend the scene on the beach – located a short distance from Colwell – by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at 16:42.
Lymington RNLI Lifeboat was also launched to assist the team and provide transportation for the now packaged casualty from the Chine to Yarmouth Harbour.
The woman, who was suffering from a dislocated knee, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

I love it when bit of jargon get out to the public “packaged casualty” is a new one on me …
Hardly funny, Brambles are very painful if you fall in them.
I sincerely hope the lady will make a full recovery, but it’s interesting to note that, outside of silly season, most locals don’t keep falling down chines. Hauling stuff up chines on a police/ coastguards free night, yes… But falling down ’em, no. Because we know it’s there and don’t need pavements and signage to warn us of the danger.
Why did she go out for a walk with a disculated knee anyway, just asking for trouble ?
