Wightlink has announced that its fixed-price Sunset Flyer fare will continue until the end of 2026, following a successful first year and strong take-up from Isle of Wight residents.
The Islander-only offer was introduced to provide a flexible, fixed-cost option for off-peak travel, particularly for those heading to the mainland for family visits, appointments and short breaks.
The fare remains available for Island-originating journeys on both the Fishbourne-Portsmouth and Yarmouth-Lymington routes.
Customers can continue to purchase a fixed-price ticket valid for up to 30 days, with travel available on evening and early morning crossings every day of the week.
The more flexible sailing times introduced for the Sunset Flyer will now remain in place throughout the Summer months.
Updated prices per crossing are set at £45 until the end of June, rising to £49 during July and August, returning to £45 for September and October, before reducing to £40 during November and December.
The Sunset Flyer was developed following feedback received from customers during Wightlink’s Meet the Team events and through work with the Solent Transport User Group.
The initiative was designed to help spread demand more evenly across the day while supporting Islanders making off-peak trips to the mainland.
