Part of the children’s playground at Puckpool Park in Ryde will be closed off with fencing to the public from now until Monday 18th July whilst it undergoes essential repairs.
Whilst works are completed, the popular musical spider and tyre swing are both inaccessible.
Both café’s within the Park have been consulted on the works taking place and will remain open for business as usual. Facilities at the park such as the tennis courts and parking are not be affected.
Executive member for environment and local engagement (including public realm), councillor Paul Fuller, said:
“I appreciate the playground is a very popular area within Puckpool Park and I appreciate in advance your patience but I would urge parents and children to avoid the temptation to remove or climb over the fencing.
“The fencing is there to protect your safety and to ensure that works to repair the section requiring attention is completed as quickly as possible. The park is an excellent facility which gets a lot of use and it’s important to note only a section of it will be closed, so that we can return it to you in even better condition”.
The work is expected to be completed by Monday 18th July.
