The Bugle Inn in Brading is to close its doors at the end of the day tomorrow (Sunday), as the owners confirm they have become another victim of the current pub crisis.
The popular Isle of Wight pub has said rising costs across the hospitality industry had left them with an impossible decision, despite the business remaining busy.
In a statement, it has been explained that over the past 2 years, taxes, business rates, wages and utility costs have all risen sharply, while some ingredient prices have increased by as much as quadruple.
Owners Jasmine and Daniel have said they did not want to dramatically increase prices for customers in order to remain viable, so have taken the decision to sell up, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Despite the closure announcement, the owners say they remain hopeful a buyer can be found to reopen the pub in the future.
Tomorrow (Sunday 31st May) will be the pub’s final day of trading.

Sadly another one bites the dust, what business will be next!
Well done Starmer and Rachel from accounts. That’s two big pubs gone in recent weeks, and that’s before the summer season.
Their plan is working.
What a disaster. Big Car Park. Lovely old building. If not a pub, maybe it can be used for another purpose.
Perfect pay as you go car park and a place for numpties to
park their vehicles rather than parking in the small car park
along by The Wheatsheaf Inn.
Sadly another Public House closing. Painting a grim picture and illustrating that the Island experiences national economic shocks at an alarming pace.
Thanks to labour for the demise of the UK she is now doing a nice pud tax.. vile thick as shit woman.
If you voted Labour at the last election you must be so disillusioned.
Broken Britain – don’t remember that in their manifesto.
It is crushing to see many good businesses closing.
Trouble was the Jackanories didn’t give us any option did they?
From 2015, we had two years of Theresa the Appeaser, in hock to her pal Damian Green and his “One Nation” aerosols, Gauke, Soubry, Grieve et al.
Then we had probably the worst CONservative ever in Bozo “I father kids-nothing else” Johnson.
Then there was Liz “look at me” Truss with her trusty abacus wielding Chancellor “we are in the Khasi Kwarteng”.
Followed by mega-rich Fishy Rishi.
I mean – come on – would you EVER vote Tory again?
We have to go through the pain of Liebore.
Just make sure Badenough is not the medicine.
We must bury the Tory Party – forever.
What I don’t and never will understand is people voted this shit party in knowing this is what was going to happen! Labour have and always will be shit, only thing is after this they most probably never get back into power ever again..well done all you plebs out there who voted this ugly vile shower of shit in.
You have a short memory because many pubs closed during the 14 years of Tory rule.
Nothing to what this shit has done in 2 year’s.
Another one gone thanks to greed tax. When are the thick shits going to learn, if you get places closed and all the staff are out of work, THE LESS REVENUE YOU ARE GOING GET, AND YOU WILL UP WITH SOD ALL
Labour isn’t working. A party for the shirkers not the workers. Massive thanks go out to Mr Richard Wrigerly Quigerly Rach from accounts and never here Kier as another one bites the dust.
