Animal lovers and their dogs are invited to a countryside adventure as the RSPCA Isle of Wight Dog Walk returns on Sunday 26th April 2026.
The much-loved annual event will once again take place at Havenstreet Station, combining scenic walking, steam railway travel and a host of dog-friendly activities—all in aid of vulnerable animals across the Isle of Wight.
Organised by the RSPCA Isle of Wight, the day will begin with a steam train journey from Havenstreet to Wootton, courtesy of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Participants will then take part in a guided 3-mile walk back through countryside, woodland and farmland.
The route includes Briddlesford Woods, where walkers may spot native wildlife such as red squirrels and dormice.
Back at Havenstreet, activities will run from 10:00 until 16:30, including a Fun Dog Show with categories such as ‘Waggiest Tail’, ‘Best Veteran’ and ‘Best in Show’. There will also be stalls, displays and refreshments.
Tickets include access to the railway’s museum and Train Story Discovery Centre, showcasing more than 150 years of railway heritage.
Funds raised will support the RSPCA Isle of Wight, an independent charity that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes animals locally, with more than 95% of its income coming from community fundraising.

Rebecca Busby, Fundraising and Marketing Officer for the charity, said:
“The Great Isle of Wight Dog Walk is one of our favourite events of the year. It’s a fantastic way for the community to come together, enjoy the outdoors, and help us continue caring for animals who need us most.”
Discounted ferry travel will also be available for those travelling from the mainland over the event weekend.
