Reform UK’s leader, Richard Tice, welcomed a packed audience at Riverside Centre on Monday as he kickstarted the party’s election campaign here on the Isle of Wight. Sarah Morris for Isle of Wight East and Ian Pickering for Isle of Wight West both spoke to 140 supporters alongside party leader, Richard Tice. Richard had been booked to come down to the Island, but after the announcement of the General Election his attendance was understandably pulled into question. Richard honoured his promise to speak on the Island, making it one of his first engagements in his extremely busy run-up to the election, as he also has his own constituency campaign to run. It’s said that the energy in the room was ‘fantastic’, with a positive mood reported. Sarah and Ian are very keen to get going with their calendar of upcoming events, including the various hustings evenings where they are looking forward to answering your questions and meeting voters. It can be revealed that Sarah and Ian will be present at the joint Island Echo / IW Observer hustings on 12th June and 19th June respectively.

can you imagine the stink of gammon in Newport
Must have been immense! Such a foul stench, at least we know what they look like now scan avoid them in the street.
Only stench from your mouth you talk shit ha ha ha
Loony Liberal typical hatred
Lefties are the vilest of scum, I hope you never have the misfortune to encounter one of them!
only when they are glued to the road!
Yep if you were there Pig grow up
You a strange pothead like myself
You likely won’t notice it above the odour of curry, dope, and Dudo Olsun
Racist much?
Same policies as the Tories except they want to abolish inheritance tax, scrap planning rules, and provide tax relief for private health care. Obviously, multimillionaire property developer Richard Tice wants to line his own pockets further and look after his wealth. A vote for Reform is a vote to line the pockets of the rich, but really it is just a wasted vote.
tax relief for private health care
That is how the privatisation of the NHS will start. Look at how it happened in the US. They once had free health insurance for all. But by the 70’s it was all but gone. They want to do the same here. UK is sinking and the right wing are responsible.
Looking at the photo, I see that are still claiming to be the ‘Brexit Party’
4+ years later,.. haven’t they realised what an unmitigated disaster that has turned out to be, with none of the advantages promised (do you remember their adverts featuring the NHS?), and all of the disadvantages warned about.
With a report out today that
“The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), which represents over 19,000 companies and 18 million employees, has urged the next government to forge closer ties with the EU after years of “choppy times” for British business.”
do they really want to keep reminding us of Brexit and the lies they told in the run up to the referendum…
& your life post brexit has changed how?
This is actually a valid question.
How, if at all, has the average person’s life changed since Brexit?
Of course, some things ‘should’ have changed, based on what we were told beforehand, e.g. less illegal immigration, but that patently hasn’t happened.
So, the question remains, to those like the commenter calling themselves ‘Wightlink’, how exactly has your life changed since Brexit?
How have you, personally, been affected by the ‘unmitigated disaster’ of Brexit? How do your personal circumstances differ from before we left the EU? No quotes from big businesses, please, just your own personal ‘unmitigated disaster’ stories.
Brexit promised us cheaper food, down by 20% they said, cheaper gas and electricity, less immigration, control of our borders ( which we already had ) £350m to the NHS, none of these have happened. All of these have rocketed, and we are a much poorer country. Food prices continue to rise as more border checks and costs are incurred by producers, which is passed onto the consumer. It’s cost the country £100s of Billions in damage to economy. Not one single benefit that I can find.
Exactly. There are no benefits of Brexit. We are all worse off because the cost of living has gone through the roof and the NHS is an even worse shambles. Nothing is better.
but how has your life changed?
@ ‘catherine Johnson’ I have no intention of revealing my personal life to you. Who the fuck are you to demand that I do!
Suffice to say, the negative effects on me personally, an my business have been massive. Both in financial and inconvenience terms..
And none of the ‘promised’ benefits have come to pass.
No £350 million extra per week being spent on the NHS, no reduction in immigration, or NHS waiting list …no anything else that was promised!
anyone can read The Guardian & regurgitate it here!
Will they reduce our extortionate Council tax.
Will they reduce our extortionate Green waste charges.
Will they reduce our extortionate Ferry fares.
Will they abolish public toilet charges of 50p
I doubt it very much
And labour will?
Independent will or would try, the other party’s don’t care.
This is a national election. You should take those very local issues up with the council.
I’d love to know how an MP, serving in Westminster, is going to ‘abolish public toilet charges of 50p’?
And, as you advocate, the use of toilets, water, handwashing facilities, drying, plus the cleaning and maintenance etc should all be free at point of use, who exactly is going to be paying for them? You? Me? Why should you or I pay for someone else using them? Here’s an idea, how about the person actually using the facilities pays for them at point of entry?
This is a General Election, it’s not about the price of taking a pee on the seafront.
great turn out, great policies, Great Britain!
Load of old shite and you know it. They haven’t got a clue.
unlike yourself naturally? lol!
Yay! Good luck guy’s! Need more party’s.
