Parkdean Resorts is preparing for a surge in bookings at its holiday parks on the Isle of Wight for September, October and November 2020 by introducing a range of new activities for families.
With holidaymakers wanting to enjoy a well-deserved break whilst seeking fresh air, open spaces and safe, beautiful locations that the Isle of Wight has to offer, the parks have been fully booked for July and August. The company is now making preparations for a second peak as Brits plan their getaways for later in the year.
Demand for holidays in September, October and November has doubled compared to last year, a massive boost to the local economy, as the increased number of holidaymakers at Parkdean’s resorts can be expected to spend their hard-earned cash with businesses in the area that rely so much on tourism.
To entertain the thousands of families set to descend on its parks during half term, Parkdean Resorts will be running an unprecedented range of ‘spooktacular’ Halloween activities and events for families.
Parkdean Resorts operates 4 parks on the Island: Thorness Bay, Lower Hyde, Nodes Point and Languard.
There’s good news for workers as well, as Parkdean will have record numbers of staff on its parks in Isle of Wight for the Autumn months this year. The company hired an extra 1,500 team members across the UK to cope with extra demand when holiday parks reopened in July, and teams will be staying on to help deliver the best possible experience on park.
Steve Richards, Chief Executive, Parkdean Resorts, said:
“People have really fallen back in love with the Great British holiday, and we’re pulling out all the stops to make sure holidaymakers and holiday home owners can make the most of their staycation this autumn. Our teams on park have done a fantastic job and we’re determined to finish the year with a bang.”

Strewth, thought we would have had a few months to enjoy where we live, seems what with Pennyfeathers, Bullen and thousands of extra tourists, the Island it to be ruined all year, for all time now.
Like the money they bring though don’t you, been coming to the Island for over fifty years ,husband born there and until now never realised how many nasty minded people there are on it.
Well done Suzanne, a lot of nasty, self centred and opinionated people here, don’t be put off by the handful of regular contributors on here, they are a Very minute representation of the population.
There are many people who share this view. Myself included, whilst this WORLDWIDE pandemic is happening. I just hope the “guests ” stay on-site and don’t go “out and about”flouting the social distancing rules such as I witnessed in Ventnor this morning- and on the bus.
Ignor her suzanne she doesnt speak for the island. Unfortunately the island is held back by people like susan that oppose everything that brings tourism and much needed cash(like the arreton motocross and iow festival), she is probably retired and has no thought for those who are struggling to make a living over here with tourism probably the largest employer.
Those of us born on the lsland know that we rely on tourists and ordinarily love to see the lsland busy , but l don’t think you realise how worried some people are about the virus. It’s very difficult trying to strike a balance, there have been more people here than usual and some, not all ,have been rude, ignorant and demanding .
Exactly.
If you think that don’t bother to come here then!
Personally, I love it when the tourists are here as it is nice to see ‘normal’ people enjoying the Island rather than the streets in the towns filled with drunks, druggies and feral kids. Also a chance to dilute the gene pool. Sounds harsh and I will get a roasting from the trolls on here and I bet PF will be mentioned, yet again!! Yawn yawn.
As yes, the whole ‘all islanders are inbred druggies’ hate-spewing bigotry from Ziggy. Funny, I see far more inbred, degenerate, stab-happy chaps where you are.
Pepe – you have no idea where I am so don’t try to intimidate me please, I do live on the Island.
Nice racist comment idiot !
How can it be a racist comment? People on the Isle of Wight aren’t a different race. Too fast to use the R word.
John, I think you may be confusing my online name with my heritage!
moan , moan , moan. Change the record.
I guess Ziggy you think the Island is full of druggies, drunks and feral kids then. If it’s that bad go live on the mainland. Even an amoeba can see that more people coming here = more chance of the virus coming bad.. Doh! It’s increasing here already. As for the lockdown there were private 2nd homeowners still letting out properties, flouting the rules and getting away with it.
