The future of Novum Law’s Isle of Wight office is unclear after the injury claims firm was bought out by Simpson Millar earlier this week. Both the assets and trading name of Novum Law – which specialises in personal injury, medical negligence and asbestos claims – have been acquired by Simpson Millar from administrators, the Begbies Traynor Group. It’s thought the deal was struck on Tuesday. Novum Law has offices in Southampton, Salisbury, Swindon, Plymouth, Bristol and Cardiff. The Isle of Wight office is based on St Cross Business Park in Newport – but is now listed as appointment only. The purchase comes just weeks after parent company Nhlex Limited was served with a winding up petition by HMRC. A validation order was secured to allow Novum Law to continue trading though. It is unclear what the future holds for the existing staff and offices, including here on the Island.
