A planning application for the development a new residential estate off Smallbrook Lane in Ryde has been re-submitted to the Isle of Wight Council, with a reduction in the number of proposed properties.
The plans detail transforming the land currently used as Rosemary Vineyard into a new housing estate consisting of 181 properties and a doctors surgery. In October last year a planning application was submitted for 197 homes, however those behind the development have decided to re-submit revised plans.
If approved, the development would see the demolition of Rosemary Vineyard and Sharon Orchard. A new roundabout would be built on Smallbrook Lane and an additional entrance put in place off Ashey Road, where Trotters Riding School would also be demolished.
The new estate would consist of 64x Southern Housing 2, 3 and 4-bedroom houses plus 33x 2-bed houses; 41x 3-bed houses; 3x 4-bed houses; 23 self-build plots; 8x 1-bed flats and 9x ‘passive houses’.
Islanders have until 16th June to comment on the plans, which can be accessed at https://www.iwight.com/planning/AppDetails3.aspx?frmId=32745.
