The brand new Aldi store currently under development in Lake will open to the public on Thursday 8th September.
The doors of the 1,140m² food store are set to open at Spithead Business Centre off Whitecross Lane in just over 5 weeks time, almost 2 years after Island Echo exclusively revealed the German supermarket’s plans for a second store on the Island.
Located just down the road from rival Lidl and opposite Morrison’s supermarket, the popular store has seen the creation of up to 40 full and part-time jobs.
Work on the site got underway in February of this year after planning permission was granted by the Isle of Wight Council in June 2015.
Aldi opened their first store on the Isle of Wight in Cowes in September 2013.
Plans for the opening day are yet to be finalised, however store openings often include a prize giveaway.
