13 headteachers and senior leaders from across the country, including as far as Manchester, recently visited Nine Acres Primary School – the only primary school on the Isle of Wight to maintain an ‘Outstanding’ rating for over a decade.
The visit, which took place on Friday 14th March, provided an opportunity to observe the high-quality education, leadership, and outstanding practice that have cemented Nine Acres’ reputation as a centre of excellence.
Throughout the day, visiting leaders spent time in classrooms, engaging with pupils, and gaining insights from the school’s leadership team about their successful approaches to curriculum delivery, inclusion, teaching strategies, and whole-school improvement.
Mrs Dyer, Headteacher of Nine Acres Primary, expressed her pride in hosting the delegation, stating:
“It is a privilege to welcome educational professionals from across the country to share in the journey of excellence at Nine Acres Primary.
“Collaboration and networking are fundamental to school improvement, and opportunities like these enable leaders to reflect, learn, and take best practices back to their own schools—ultimately having a direct impact on the children they serve.”
A key element of Nine Acres’ sustained success is its outward-looking staff team, who are continually seeking new ways to improve, learn from others, and share their expertise.
The school fosters a culture where professional development, innovation, and collaboration are at the heart of its mission. By welcoming leaders from across the country, Nine Acres continues to demonstrate its commitment to not only maintaining its own excellence but also supporting the wider education community.
The visit was part of an ongoing commitment to sharing best practices and fostering collaboration between schools nationwide. Leaders explored the innovative teaching methods, leadership structures, and strong school culture that underpin Nine Acres’ continued success.
Attendees left the event inspired and equipped with new strategies to implement in their own schools, further reinforcing the power of professional learning communities in driving high standards of education for all children.
Says a lot – the only 1 primary school to maintain an
outstanding rating.
WHAT ARE THE OTHERS DOING THEN!
