Concerns for the welfare of a woman, feared to be planning on entering the sea at Ryde, was found in her own back garden this morning (Tuesday).
It was at around 06:00 that Police responded to the Esplanade in Ryde, following a concern for welfare report.
A local woman had been reported missing and there were fears that she may have come to harm.
The assistance of HM Coastguard was soon called upon, with Coastguard Rescue Teams from both Bembridge and Ventnor tasked to Ryde.
A short time after rendezvousing with Police at Quay Street car park, beside Ryde Harbour, it was confirmed that the woman had been located safe and well.
Island Echo understands the female at the centre of the search was located in her back garden – not by the sea.
