Minor injuries have been reported after a Ford Fiesta crashed into a bus stop on the main road between Sandown and Shanklin this morning (Sunday).
Police and paramedics were called to Sandown Road, just past Skew Bridge, at around 09:00.
At the scene a Ford Fiesta has collided with a bus stop, smashing the structure and sending shards of glass across the carriageway.
The collision has also damaged fencing blocking access to the Island Line. South Western Railway engineers have erected temporary fencing to restrict access to the tracks.
Sandown Road was closed for around 90-minutes whilst the driver was tended to in the back of an ambulance.
The road remained closed until recovery of the vehicle by Bartletts had been completed at around 10:30.
