McDonald’s say they hope to re-open Ryde’s drive-thru by early June, it has been announced.
The fast good giant is preparing to start re-opening stores across the country with 30 restaurants set to open from 20th May under ‘Phase 2’ of the company’s plan. It’s unclear if Ryde is part of the initial 30 pilot stores.
A reduced menu will be served over reduced hours – 11:00 – 22:00 – meaning no famous McDonald’s breakfast for Islanders.
To help employees to work safely, McDonald’s will operate with fewer employees on each shift and implement new social distancing procedures.
Customers will be encouraged to use contactless payment wherever possible and there will be a maximum spend of £25.
Those hoping for fast food are warned that with fewer people in the kitchens, there may be longer wait times.

Was enjoying the lockdown and not seeing McDonald’s rubbish all over the place….thrown out of car windows by deadhead don’t give a f**k kids when they’ve finished!
I don’t miss all the McDonalds rubbish strewn all over the road by chavs & boy racers with stupid caps pointing up or hoodies idiots!
Oh well… it will at least give all those that may have lost weight in lockdown from not being able to eat their favourite junk food, the chance to pile on the pounds again. I can hear a queue forming now.
All car numbers should be printed onto the containers of McD’s packages and then the boxes could be linked to then ban any car from rubbish sold to that vehicle.
I’m confused; the article says, “The fast good giant”. What is good about McD’s?
Is this a typo error by the journalist? Should it not read, “The fast food giant”?
