FOUND: Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of missing 81-year-old Mohammad Salih, which has prompted a major multi-agency search to be launched on the Isle of Wight.
Mohammad was last seen at around 13:20 yesterday afternoon (Sunday) in the Shanklin Road area of Godshill having left home with the possibility of walking the coastal path in the Culver Down area. He has not been in contact with family or friends since.
Hampshire Constabulary, WightSAR, Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team, Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team, Bembridge RNLI and the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter are all currently involved in the search for Mr Salih. The search got underway at around 01:30 this morning.
Mohammad is described as:
– 5ft 7ins tall
– Small build
– Very thin white/grey hair
He was last seen wearing a black woolly hat, a thin yellow nylon coat, a thick black woollen fleece, dark coloured trousers, black leather shoes and gloves. He may be carrying a small blue pouch bag.

UPDATE @ 06:40 – Mr Salih has been found alive, but cold, by Coastguard officers between Shanklin and Ventnor.
He has been airlifted by the Coastguard helicopter to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
Search teams have now stood down from the incident.
UPDATE @ 13:00 – Footage showing the moment the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter located 81-year-old Mohammad has been released.
Mr Salih was discovered at Monks Bay, near Ventnor.
